Contents Pastor: Rev. Fr. Robert E. Gamel (375-2110) 
A native of Exeter,CA, Fr. Gamel attended junior college in near by Visalia before transferring to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City for about two years.  He completed his bachelor's degree at Arizona State University.  Fr. Gamel spent five years as a member of the Dominicans, a religious community of priests and brothers in Oakland.  Continuing his education, he obtained a teaching credential in secondary education from California State University at Hayward and taught in a Catholic high school. 

In the fall of 1986, he entered St.John's Seminary in Camarillo to spend four years finishing his education for the priesthood.  Fr. Gamel's first assignment as a priest was at St. Anthony's in Fresno.  Accustomed to the desert, Gamel comes to Ridgecrest from serving two small parishes simultaneously, Our Lady of Lourdes in California City and St. Joseph's in Boron.  He began serving as the pastor of St. Ann's parish in June 1999.
