Welcome back – and Happy New Year! I hope your Christmas break was a time for family, friends and relaxation!

• This month we will have an enrollment drive for Saint Ann School. Our goal is to make Saint Ann School very visible to our parishioners as they are considering where their children will go to school next year. We are asking students to wear their uniforms to the Sunday Masses all month. (Students who come in uniform to at least two weekend Masses in January will be granted a “free dress day” in February. Students must check in with the teacher on duty in the side foyer after Mass to receive credit.) Selected students will also read a short message about the school at the end of Mass in the weeks leading up to Catholic Schools Week. One weekend we will have an information booth set up outside of church. If we find someone to make ribbon pins (with old Saint Ann uniforms), then we will have students passing these out at the weekend Masses to families who have ever had a child attend our school. As usual, the final Catholic School Week Masses (Jan. 30-31) will be mostly staffed by Saint Ann students. Please support this enrollment drive by speaking with family, friends, co-workers and fellow parishioners about the benefits of a Saint Ann School education. Also mention that cost should not prevent any family from choosing this option because tuition assistance is available. Our new policy is that you will earn a $100.00 HEART card for every new family that you refer who enrolls their child. Filling more of the seats will provide financial stability for the school and will benefit everyone by reducing cost per student and making fundraising much lighter.

• As you will remember from the Registration Information obligations, each Saint Ann School family is responsible for selling or buying one Car Raffle ticket (the deadline date is Friday, January 22). Tickets are available for you to pick up in the School Office. If you are not planning to buy your own ticket, you should consider signing up to sell raffle tickets after a weekend Mass. The first ticket you sell will count towards your obligation. Even if you are planning to buy your ticket, you may sign up to sell to earn parent hours since there are times available. When you pick up your ticket, you are responsible for the cost ($250.00) at that time. If you are planning on selling your ticket, you may give us a post-dated check. When you sell the ticket, your check will be replaced with the money from the person buying your ticket. This money must be turned in to the School Office by Friday, January 22. Otherwise, your check will be deposited. You may also go in with other non-school families to buy your ticket (of course, you must then split your winnings!). If your family does not pick up your raffle ticket by Friday, January 22, your ticket will be sold and your family will be billed for the cost of the ticket. You will find a Car Raffle flyer in this Monday Envelope. Please use this to advertise this important fundraiser.

• Since we are still in the middle of cold and flu season, please keep in mind the following – do not send your child back to school after an illness unless he or she has been free of fever for 24 hours. We would like to keep contagion to a minimum. Also, we want your child to stay nice and warm in the classroom, so please make sure your child has a “dress code appropriate” red sweatshirt or sweater to wear – and write their names on the labels!

• Please join us for the PTG Meeting next Tuesday, January 12, in the school library. We will discuss the upcoming Car Raffle and the enrollment drive that will take place this month.
