Music opportunities at Saint Ann School include:

SASSY (Saint Ann School Symphonic Youth) provides liturical music for Friday School Mass as well as Sunday Saint Ann Parish masses as needed. We perfom at school and comminuity events. SASSY is composed of our advanced musicians who have been selected from both band and choir students. SASSY will meet from 2:45 – 3:30 on Monday.

Last year SASSY recorded a benefit CD for the victims of the Tsunami. About $2000 was raised. There are still copies available for $10 each. Contact the Saint Ann School if you would like to purchase one.

Choir

Choir is open to Grade 4-8 students; however, exceptions will be made based on capability. Students will practice in the together in the Parish Center.

Generally, the choir sings from the choir loft in the church; however, this will depend on the number of students who participate. Students must be motivated music students and in good standing in regular Music instruction. Mrs. Veit may invite focused third graders to join as well. Mrs. Moore will direct the children’s choir.

Violinists/Guitarists are invited to be part of the Choir. Beginners are invited to play songs if they are working on a song with their teacher; however, we will be unable to provide instruction. Beginning violinist will be incorporated into their class’ mass. Advanced students will be needed to play harmony and descants for the choir and will also be invited to play with SASSY.
