Saint Ann School 4th Grade Supplies - 2008/2009

I am looking forward to having your child next year. One of the biggest transitions between third and fourth grade is the responsibility of writing down homework for various subjects and making sure all the necessary materials can be found to complete the assignment. I have found that having different colored folders with prongs for various subjects is the best way to insure that a student has necessary materials. Less time is spent searching for partially completed papers. Writing of assignments in the Daily Planner is much more efficient because all that needs to be written is the specific color folder; the folder will have the related materials to complete the assignment. It is best that some of these folders are plastic rather than paper because paper ones often tear after a few months; however, it can be difficult to find various colored plastic folders during the school supply crunch in the summer. For this reason, I have given parents the option for me to purchase school supplies for your child. This has worked out well; therefore, I will be doing it again this year. I estimate that $20 should cover this cost of school supplies. In this way, I can take advantage of bulk and sale pricing. If you would rather purchase the supplies yourself, of course, you may choose to do so. The supply list is below.
If you buy paper folders, they are cheaper, but usually need to be replaced half way through the year because they rip. The more expensive poly folders will not rip.
