ORGANIC OR INORGANIC... WHICH SHOULD WE REALLY BE EATING?
In my research project I did various research to see if organic or inorganic produce was better for our health. I learned that there are many things that are beneficial to our health if we eat organic produce. Some of the benefits of organic farming are: - Organic farming does not rely on the use of pesticides or fumigants.
- It can help prevent some kinds of air pollution.
- It does not use up alot of our natural resources.
- It can make our ecoysytems balance out and be more harmonious.
However there are some benefits of inorganic produce.
- Your produce is guaranteed, no bugs or pests on the produce even though there were chemicals used.
- Fruits can help prevent some harmful diseases and, when chemicals come in contact with produce, it can kill those beneficial vitamins.
- Vitamin content becomes higher when it comes in contact with some chemicals.
- Fruits and vegetables are beneficial to your eyesight.
In my research I found out that organic produce is not better for our health. Actually it does not really matter whether your produce is organic or not. In organic produce, people think they are getting healthier produce because there were no chemicals used.
But there is something they do not know, you can still get chemicals on your produce even though it is organic. If the air where you are growing is polluted, you can get chemicals on your food. Also, from the rain, there can be some chemical runoff. Overall I learned a lot about the food I eat that is very important to know!
