Cultural Immersion:German Immigrants 1820-1860

During this week, the Middle School is taking part in an activity called the Cultural Immersion Project. For this project, each class would choose a culture and learn more about it. The eighth grade are doing German immigrants that came to the United States in the period of 1820-1860. For my part of the project, I am doing:

The eighth grade will also be serving food, preparing some activities, and perform a skit about Germany.

















The food that we will serve includes:
  1. grape juice
  2. cream filled powdered doughnuts
The eighth grade also presented their research about the topics they looked up. For the skit, we had two characters that went back in time to 19th century Germany to try and get a good grade on their report. For the activities, the eighth grade had the middle school write letters as if they were immigrants and also made quilt squares.
