Weekly Notes from the Principal's Desk. . .

March 21, 2005

• Parent Teacher Conferences are on Monday through Thursday this week. These are also minimum days with 11:30 AM dismissal for students. Please remember to call the School Office if you are unable to come to your scheduled conference.

• Our Extended Day Program (EDP) is open this week for families who need to make special arrangements for their child(ren) during conference week. The special conference week price for new, non-contracted families for one child to attend from 11:30 AM to 2:15 PM is $15.00 per day (and you would provide your child's own snack and lunch). Please contact the School Office if you would like to use this service.

• Registration Information for the 2005 - 2006 School Year will be included in the Monday Envelope on April 4th. Registration fees will be due on or before April 22nd (Flex Friday). Tuition assistance applications will also be available on April 4th.

• Scrip Obligation Cut-Off Date is next Thursday, March 31st. See the enclosed flyer about the hours of scrip sales during the next two weeks. Your family's scrip profit info will be in your Monday Envelope on April 4th. If you have any questions in the meantime, call Missy Walkling at 375-1621. As always, you may use your excess scrip profit towards next year's registration or this year's tuition.

• There will not be any 5th Grade basketball games this week . . . but we do have two games next week during Easter break (assuming we have enough players who will be in town).

• As part of their Lenten observance, students have been collecting money for the poor using their Rice Bowls. Please return the Rice Bowls by this Wednesday. We will then forward the money to Catholic Relief Services.

• This Wednesday all the students will be taking part in a Seder Meal. The purpose of this experience is to help students understand the connection between the Jewish Passover, the Last Supper, and our Mass. 7th and 8th Grade students will create a live representation of Leonardo daVinci's famous painting of the Last Supper. We invite parents to come to observe the seder meal in the Parish Center beginning at 10:30 AM.

• Looking ahead to after Easter break, the kick-off for the Masterpiece Cookie Dough Sales will be at morning assembly on Monday, April 4th. Cookie dough order forms will go home in the April 4th Monday Envelope. The completed order forms will be due back to the school on Monday, April 18th. Thank you to Mrs. Kim Metcalf who has agreed to be chairperson for this year's cookie sales.

• Because the regularly scheduled time occurs during our Easter break, the Advisory Council Meeting will be tonight at 7:00 PM. If you are interested in attending, please join us in the School Library at 7:00 PM.

• Fr. Bob, members of the St. Ann staff, and I would like to wish all of you a blessed Easter and restful Easter break. We hope to all come back refreshed to finish our final quarter of the 2004-2005 school year. Don't forget that we will change our clocks for Daylight Savings Time the day before we come back after break!
