Weekly Notes from the Principal's Desk. . .
March 7, 2005
- Congratulations to our Science Fair participants and winners. See the reverse for a news article from The Daily Independent related to our Science Fair.
We'd like to thank our judges: Jim Nelepovitz, Nathan Huntoon, Janet Estabridis, and Clara Finneran. They previewed projects, interviewed students and made the difficult decisions about awards.
- Parent Teacher Conferences are the week of March 21-24. Look for information in today's Monday Envelope regarding signing up for times. These conferences provide you with a unique opportunity to collaborate with your child's teacher. The resulting advice, strategies, and insights can help both you and your child's teacher enhance your child's success in school.
- Just a reminder that our conference week (March 21-24) is spring break for Sierra Sands Unified School District. If you plan to take your child out of school, any requests in advance for missing work must be made early next week. If you want teachers to make this accommodation for you, please do not ask them for it the day before you leave. If you do not request it in advance, teachers will be prepared to give your child a list of missing work on April 4, the first day back after our Easter break.
- Please join us this Friday and each Friday in Lent (except Good Friday) for the Fish Fry! This week's Fish Fry is hosted by the Middle School.
- · 5th Grade basketball starts this week!
Girls Tues, March 8 Game vs Faller @ Kerr McGee Ctr 4:15 pm
Boys Fri, March 10 Game vs Faller @ Kerr McGee Ctr 5:15 pm
- Please join us on Thursday evening for the PTG meeting at 7:00 PM in the School Library. As parents of Saint Ann School students, you are automatically members of the PTG. We'd like to see more parents come to the meeting and be involved in making decisions that affect the school. This month Mrs. Emily Miller will explain the Gesell Test given to incoming kindergarten and first grade students. This test is an excellent tool to help parents and teachers determine student readiness. Please invite any families of your acquaintance who have students entering those grades next year to come to this meeting.
- Please join us this Friday for Mass (8:15 AM) and Stations of the Cross (1:30 PM).
- Last Friday was the first parish Fish Fry of Lent. Please join us each Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Parish Center for fish, chips, coleslaw, lemonade and coffee. The students planning on attending World Youth Day will be hosting the first three fish fry dinners. Middle School, 4th Grade, and 5th Grade will host the last three dinners. Middle School, 4th and 5th Grade teachers will be contacting parents to help.
