Weekly Notes from the Principal's Desk. . .

November 8, 2004

  • Last week we anticipated that the Innisbrook orders would be delivered to our school on Friday. As you know, the truck didn't come as scheduled. The company has told us that orders will be delivered this Tuesday instead. We expect that students with smaller orders will be able to take them home on Tuesday. Larger orders will be available for pick-up after school on Wednesday.
  • The Holiday Bazaar is fast approaching, and final preparations are underway. Mrs. Metcalf has scheduled many of you to work shifts, but I know that many more slots need to be filled. As I mentioned before, this is a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit (it even smells like Christmas!) and earn parent hours. This event raised around $10,000 last year to help in the education of your children, and we hope that it will be equally successful this year. I know many of you worked diligently at the Oktoberfest/Casino Night/Halloween Carnival, but I hope you can find the time to participate in this as well. I promise you a fairly long reprieve from fundraisers after this event.
  • Please look for the lime green fliers advertising the Holiday Bazaar in this week's Monday Envelope. We would appreciate your help in posting these in your place of business, sharing them with friends, etc.
  • If you're having trouble finding a red sweatshirt for your child now that the weather has turned chilly, consider buying the sweatshirt offered in our Saint Ann Spirit Wear collection. Long-sleeved white polo shirts are also available. See the order form in this Monday Envelope.
  • I'm happy to report that our Chess Club is back in business. Jim McDonald has offered to lead this group (possibly with other interested adults) every flex Friday in the multi-purpose room of the Parish Center. Students would eat their lunches as usual, and then they could go the Parish Center for 30 minutes of chess. Seating would be limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The first scheduled meeting will be Friday, November 19.
  • Tuition payments are due by this Wednesday, November 10.
