  • ITBS Testing starts next Monday, October 4th and continues through Wednesday, October 14th. All students except those in Kindergarten and First Grade participate in this standardized testing. Please know that standardized testing, while receiving much media attention lately, is just one of many ways used to measure your child's academic performance. Help your child by encouraging a healthy attitude toward tests. It is important that students taking tests are not tired, and that they have had a complete, unhurried breakfast. Prompt and regular attendance is very important.
  • Enclosed is the state's Application Form for Free Milk. If you believe that your child is eligible for free milk, please read the “Letter to Households - Special Milk Program for 2004 - 2005” and return the application form to the School Office.
  • This week's girls' volleyball schedule:
Tuesday: 3:00 game vs. Murray #B
Free admission…come on out to the Monroe gymnasium and cheer the team on.
  • Our Middle School team will be participating in a volleyball tournament this Saturday, Oct. 2nd, at Garces High School in Bakersfield. We will be playing 7th/8th Grade teams in the small-school division. Good luck team! If you will be in the area and want to come cheer on the team, contact Miss Rossi for more details.
  • Today was the big Innisbrook fundraiser kick-off. Your child brought home a catalog and order sheet that he or she will use when taking orders. Please fill out and return to the teacher one coupon (enclosed in the information envelope) for each six items your child sells. These coupons will be used in special drawings to be held when the items are delivered. Please return the envelopes, payments, catalog(s), and order summaries on or before Tuesday, October 12. Orders will be delivered to the school for parents to pick up around November 4. We like this fundraiser because the items are of good quality and our profit margin is 50%. Prizes are awarded to the top sellers, and the class with the highest percentage of students who participate will win a pizza party. Thank you to Mrs. Francine Rall and Mrs. Kathy Winterly for offering to coordinate this program.
  • Plans are underway for the Saint Ann Oktoberfest and Casino. Expect a call from room parents asking for your help in manning a shift for this enjoyable event to be held Saturday, October 30, in and around the Parish Center. Our annual Halloween Carnival has been absorbed into the Oktoberfest/Casino event. There will still be games for children with candy for prizes . . . and children (and adults!) are encouraged to come in costume. Information will be sent home with details regarding dinner tickets.
  • Student Council elections were held and the following students were elected by the student body: President-Jessie Vigil; Vice-President-Alex Morris: Secretary-Aurora Ostrom; and Treasurer-Amanda Cordes. Congratulations students! We know you'll work hard to represent the students of Saint Ann School.
  • Reminder-School Advisory Council meeting in the School Library on Monday, September 27, at 7:00 PM. We welcome all parents and staff who would like to attend.
