March 29, 2004

  • Registration packets will be distributed to you in next week's Monday envelope. Please note that completed registration forms and the $300 registration fee are due on or before Friday, April 23. A late fee of $50 will be charged if the registration fee is paid after this date. As I mentioned earlier, if you are not able to pay the full $300 per child by April 23, please contact me to set up a payment schedule. Tuition assistance applications will be available starting next week.

  • The last Fish Fry dinner of the year is this Friday, April 2. Please join us for a wonderful dinner and some fellowship with other parishioners. This week's dinner is hosted by students planning a pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany, during the summer of 2005.

  • Another program that provides support for Saint Ann School is Box Tops for Education. With the proceeds from this program in the past, we have purchased a digital camera and a digital video recorder. All box tops are due by this Wednesday, March 31.

  • Masterpiece orders are due back on Tuesday, April 6. That means you have one more week to sell those tasty products and help support our school!

  • The Junior Olympics program has undergone significant organizational changes this year at the city level. Because of these changes, Saint Ann School will not be hosting tryouts at the school level this year. However, we have determined that students who would like to participate from our school may still do so by contacting Miss Rossi in the School Office. Slots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We are still limited to three students per event. We will forward these names to the city on Thursday, April 8, so we must have the students' names before that time.

  • Kindergarten Gessell Testing has been scheduled for two days in April and May. Appointment letters were mailed last Thursday. If you did not receive yours or if you need an appointment for your child, please call the School Office. If you know a family interested in enrolling their child in kindergarten at Saint Ann, please encourage them to contact the school as soon as possible to make an appointment.

  • Best wishes to our county science fair participants. Aurora Ostrom, Brittany Wojciehowski, Alex Quintana and Josef Ettling will travel to Bakersfield on Wednesday, March 31 for competition.

  • The fifth grade boys and girls basketball teams are playing very well! This week the boys will play Faller School on Tuesday, March 27, at 5:15 PM. at the Kerr-McGee Center. Please join us to cheer them on! The girls team will not play this week due to their out-of-town field trip.

  • The fourth and fifth grade class will travel this Friday to Dana Point for an overnight social studies related field trip. They will be “enlisted” as “green hands” on a replica 19th century sailing ship that traveled to California from Boston via Cape Horn. Keep them in your prayers as they travel to Dana Point.

  • There is an Advisory Council meeting tonight at 7:00 PM in the school library. The PTG meeting for April has been changed to 7:00 PM this Thursday, April 1.

  • Please join us this Friday, April 2, for school Mass at 8:15 AM and for the Stations of the Cross at 1:30 PM.

  • Don't forget that Daylight Savings Time starts Saturday, April 3, at midnight.
