6th Grade
Language Arts-Students will participate in the “Great American Mail Race.” Students will complete their chapter on verbs and take a test on Friday.
Social Studies- The Walk Through Ancient Civilization program was a huge success. The students were well prepared and looked great in their period costumes. Thank you parents for all your effort in making this program flow. The students appreciated the parents who were able to attend the program. Mrs. McKnight performed well under pressure keeping a running score for the 3 teams. Congratulations to the first place team hailing from Rome with 1020 points (Austin, Amanda, Lauren and Stefanie), the second place team hailing from Greece with 980 points (Katie, Alex, Ashley, Sean and Brittany) and the third place team hailing from Egypt with 940 points (Kristen, Michael, Tommy, Phoebe, and Billy). Students are working on a country report that will be due on Friday.
Religion-Students will read numerous verses from Scripture and identify the values that are basic to Christianity. They will learn how to discern the messages in the media. The study guide for Lesson 17 will go home today. After completing the review, students will have a quiz on the lesson on Wednesday. They should finish reading their outside reading books by the end of the week.
Science- Students prepare for a test on Chapter 16. Students will work on Chapter 17 Climate. They will complete a workbook packet due on Thursday.
Math- This week students will review and study for a multiple choice test that will cover material that we studied throughout the year. There will be no new assignments. Students will have the opportunity to receive extra credit on this test. Homework in Unit 9 is due this Friday.

7th Grade
Language Arts-Students will examine adjectives and adverbs in Lesson 5. They will finish reading their outside reading books by the end of the week.
Social Studies- Students will complete a report on a person from the Reformation.
Religion-Students will write a report on one of the following people famous during the Reformation: John Calvin, St. Ignatius Loyola, Desiderius Erasmus, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, Henery VIII, Pope Paul III and Ulrich Zwingli.
Science- Students will take a test on Chapter 21 Communication and Control
Math- This week students will review and study for a multiple choice test that will cover material that we studied throughout the year. There will be no new assignments. Students will have the opportunity to receive extra credit on this test. Homework in Unit 9 is due this Friday.
Spanish- Students will celebrate their last Spanish class this week with a party. They will break a piñata and watch a movie in Spanish (with English subtitles - hopefully).

8th Grade
Language Arts-In grammar students will study prepositions, conjunctions and interjections. They will memorize the list of prepositions on p. 152 in their grammar books for a quiz on Friday. Students should finish reading their outside reading books by the end of the week.
Social Studies- This week students will take their final test on Chapter 15, Building the American Dream. Extra credit is due this week.
Religion- Students are preparing for their last mass that they will celebrate as St. Ann students (next week, June 4th).
Science- Test on Chapter 19 Tuesday.
Math-This week students are working on solving problems using Excel. They will take a test on Friday using this method to solve problems from Chapter 10. Students will not be penalized if the program does not work. This is an opportunity for students to receive 100% on a test and possibly extra credit. Homework in Chapter 11 is due this Friday.
Spanish- Students will celebrate their last Spanish class this week with a party. They will break a piñata and watch a movie in Spanish (with English subtitles - hopefully).

See enclosed yellow flyer about the immunization paper work that Miss Rossi needs before next year.
2 Liter Bottles
Students will need to bring in a plastic 2-liter soda bottle for the bottle rocket project on June 3rd.
Please sign the field trip slips for a trip to Pinney Pool on Tuesday, June 1st and a trip to Leroy Jackson Park on June 2nd
Remember the Athletics Celebration on Thursday, June 3rd, at 7pm in the Parish Center. All coaches, players and player's families are welcome to come for cake and punch.
