6th Grade
Language Arts-Students will continue to study poetry. They are both writing their own and analyzing the work of a variety of poets. They should be continuing to read their outside reading books.
Social Studies- Students will compare and contrast the societies, education and economies of Sparta and Athens. Students will summarize the Persian Wars.
Religion-Students will learn about Moses' role as an intercessor. They will learn what God wants us to do when we are to intercede. There will be a test on Lesson 13 on Thursday. Students will receive a study guide today.
Science- Students will continue a discussion on cycles of matter especially chemical reactions. Students will study the water cycle, clouds, the oxygen and carbon cycle and the nitrogen cycle. Each student will be assigned a cycle in order to make a poster of that cycle with material provided in class.
Math- This week students will learn about similar figures. They will learn to classify polygons, and they will use diagrams to help them solve word problems.

7th Grade
Language Arts-Students did a wonderful job creating their PowerPoint presentations. We have some budding graphic artists in this group! This week students will be studying poetry, and vocabulary words will be terms related to that subject. Students will read quite a bit of poetry in preparation for writing a literary response to a poem of their choice.
Social Studies- Students will review the Renaissance by listing the contributions of several notable individuals. Students will review the following terms: mercenary, realism, plague, monarchy, individualism, secular, humanism, dowry and heretic.
Religion-The students will memorize the Apostles Creed, review Chapter 7 Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the exam and begin study on Chapter 8 The Saving Mission of Jesus Christ.
Science- Students will review Chapter 15, 16 and 17. Students will take a test on each Chapter.
Math- This week students will study circles and control angles, circle graphs, polyhedrons, and they will use diagrams to help them solve word problems.
Spanish- Students will recite La Salve (Hail, Holy Queen) orally in class this week. They will also proceed to learn El Credo De Los Apo`stoles ( The Apostles Creed). Quiz Tuesday, 3/30.

8th Grade
Language Arts-Students will continue to work on their essays on the civic responsibility of Catholics. Most of the work will be done in class.
Social Studies- This week students will study the role of slaves and free black people in the anti-slavery movement. They will learn about the violence that broke out in the Kansas territories, and they will learn about Dred Scott and the Underground Railroad.
Religion- The class will prepare for Mass this Friday. They will also prepare for the Stations of the Cross on Friday at 1:30pm. The 8th grade invites everyone to attend both Mass and Stations.
Science-- Students will prepare for a test on Chapter 7 Forces in Fluids. The next unit of study will be the formation of the Solar System.
Math-This week students will work on multiplying a polynomial by a monomial, multiplying polynomials, and special products.
