6th Grade
Language Arts-Students will choose their next outside reading book this week. We will focus final preparations for our production of Macbeth.
Social Studies- Students will state the key differences between Athenian, or direct democracy, and representative democracy.
Religion-After discussing the choices made by the Israelites as they wandered through the wilderness, the students will examine their conscience and the process of making moral decisions.
Science- Students will study the cycles in time and the rhythms of life. Rhythms are any patterns in time that occur over and over again. Students will describe biological clocks and the events that set and reset biological clocks. Students will define daily rhythms, diurnal and nocturnal.
Math- Students will learn to construct triangles. They will study quadrilaterals and angle sums, and similar figures

7th Grade
Language Arts-Students will complete their Power Point presentations on their novels this week.
Social Studies- Students will describe how each of the social classes contributed to the Renaissance in Italy and how the northern European Renaissance differed form the Italian Renaissance.
Religion-Students will study the prayers of the Rosary.
Science- Students will review Chapter 15 Fishes, Amphibians and Reptiles and 16 Birds and Mammals and prepare of an exam on Thursday.
Math- This week students will learn to look for a pattern in order to help them solve problems. They will learn how to construct congruent segments and angles.
Spanish- This week students are expected to know the Hail Holy Queen in English and half of the prayer in Spanish.

8th Grade
Language Arts-Students will finish their rough drafts of their literary response to Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
Social Studies- Students will finish Chapter 10, this week. They will be able to identify and describe the groups of Southerners who did not live on plantations, and they will compare education in the South with education in the North.
Religion- This week students will work on Chapter 14, The Universal Call to Holiness and Chapter 15, The Life of Virtue. Students should be able to explain the importance of self-knowledge of our sinful tendencies in order to grow in holiness.
Science-Students review Work and Machines.
Math-This week students will learn to divide monomials, learn how to write numbers in scientific notation and study polynomials.
Spanish- This week students are expected to know the Hail Holy Queen in English and half of the prayer in Spanish.

Plan on joining us for a delightful evening on Thursday, March 18th for the Middle School presentation of Macbeth, A Musical Comedy. We are looking forward to a Renaissance dinner theater experience with you!
